resulted in our appointment by a national food retailer to seek detailed planning consent for retail use on this disused site. This followed a number of previous planning applications for the same use which had failed.

Following extensive dialogue with the local planning authority and a public consultation exercise we successfully achieved detailed planning consent on behalf of the Client for a 17,000 sqft food store, 4,000 sqft retail / leisure space and associated car parking. The scheme was designed to appear as being two storeys in height from the London Road South frontage to match the surrounding context, glazed to promote active frontages and improve the linkages between the two primary retail elements of Poynton town centre.

This success enabled our client to sell the site to a national retailer and the scheme being subsequently built out.
