As part of a design competition we were asked to design...
a new bespoke landmark development in Manchester. The 180,000 sq ft building would house Grade A Office space, high quality apartments with an integrated atrium space, roof top restaurant and retail / leisure operations at street level.
The building wears its structure on the outside to express in very graphical terms its individuality and creative nature. Embedded into the concept are a number of environmental and sustainability technologies. The external façade will incorporate automatic solar controls, collect rainwater and be self cleaning and shading.
Floor plates are arranged in a very flexible way to provide potential further internal atriums on alternate floors, winter gardens and external balconies / break-out areas.
