for its expertise in manufacturing facilities, and has been appointed as lead design co-ordinator for the largest vaccine manufacturing facility and headquarters in Africa. The £138 million facility will be built in Port Harcourt in Nigeria, as part of the river state government’s drive to significantly reduce the spread of HIV, AIDS, hepatitis, malaria, and other infectious diseases.

The 50,000 sq metre complex will be the first phase in an extensive development planned on site. It will be built, owned and managed by Integrated Medical Industries (IMI limited) – a special purpose vehicle that has been pre-qualified, accredited and certified by the world health organisation. This will be the first facility of its type in Africa and one of only 16 in the world.
